The Isla Lobos and Ochoa Beach Tour is an exciting half-day excursion that combines coastal navigation, a scenic nature hike, and incredible snorkeling. Just a short boat trip from San Cristóbal, this experience guarantees a fantastic introduction to the unique flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands.
Meet your guide and fellow travelers at the Acuario Ecotourism Pier (Muelle Ecoturístico Acuario). Please arrive at least 15 minutes early so the boat can depart on time.
Board the Speed Pacific I speedboat and begin a scenic coastal navigation along the shores of San Cristóbal.
The boat will make a brief entrance into Tijeretas Bay. While remaining on board, your naturalist guide will provide an informative talk about the history of Cerro Tijeretas and help you spot different species along the coastline.
After a 20-minute ride, you will arrive at Isla Lobos and transfer to a smaller dinghy (Zodiac) to disembark. Here, you will begin an 850-meter guided hike across an arid, rocky volcanic trail. During this 1 hour and 45-minute walk, you will have excellent opportunities to observe and photograph nesting or mating frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies.
After the hike, you will return to the dinghy to gear up for a 45-minute snorkeling session in the natural pool or coastal channel of Isla Lobos. Dive into the water to discover a vibrant marine world, swimming alongside sea lions, marine iguanas, manta rays, sea turtles, and a spectacular diversity of fish.
Following the snorkeling activity, you will disembark at the beautiful Playa Ochoa. Enjoy free time to relax on the white sand, take a stroll, or go for another swim. Lunch will be served on board or at a local spot around this time.
Arrive back at the port in Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, concluding your half-day adventure. Don't forget to stop by the agency afterward to return your snorkeling equipment!
